Tour programme

1 day

We will meet you in Gorno-Altaisk before 10:00 (if it is more profitable for you to take a ticket to Barnaul, we will pick you up in the city before leaving for Gorno-Altaisk at 06:00)

The whole day will be on the road. But what a beautiful Chui Track! We will observe the change of the landscape and flora of the Altai from the foothills to the alpine valleys. On the Seminsky pass we will see the panorama of Mount Sarlyk. We'll take the serpentine of Chike-Taman Pass. Consider the confluence of the Chui and Katun rivers.

Dizzying landscapes are still ahead, but nature on the first day makes it clear how beautiful Altai is.

At the end of the day we will settle in the base in the village of Chibit, in 2-seat rooms of the category "Standard" and at a joint dinner, continue acquaintance.

2 days

After breakfast on prepared transport throw to the colorful bridge over the Chuya River. Here we will see the Mojoy cascades.

Taking photos, we load things on pack horses, take light backpacks with water, snacks and personal belongings (necessary for the day) and begin the active part of our hike. We are waiting for a climb of 800 m in the larch forest along the Oroy stream. You will see beautiful views of the main peaks of the North Chui Ridge: Kurkure, Karahem-Bashi, Maash-Bashi.

In the evening we meet our horses, camp, cook dinner and relax.

3 days

Breakfast, camping, sending horses and continuing the journey. Today we have to overcome the Oroy Pass and the picturesque Eshtykol plateau. Underfoot will be a clearing with rocky remains and a gentle path and a swampy plateau. And the eyes will please beautiful high cedars, a picturesque trail, small saucer lakes, dwarf birch trees.

We will go down to the forest to the confluence of the rivers Shavla and Shabaga (Yashtykol), where we will meet our horses and break up a cozy camp again. We cook dinner and rest.

4 days

After breakfast, we gather camp, send horses and go to the transition to the Lower Shavlinsky Lake.

The path lies along the forest path. Soon we will see the snowy peaks of the Tale, Dream and Beauty mountains. In front of the lake, the path will rise steeply. Total climb for the day 500 m. The last breakthrough and before us will appear the turquoise surface of the Shavlinsky lake.

We meet with horses and camp, prepare dinner, admire and relax. On the lake there is a small bath (ordered on the spot, the price is not included).

5 days

Breakfast and make a radial exit about 8 km to the Upper Shavlinsky Lake, a 300 m altitude set. Here you can see the famous mountain peaks Dream, Fairy Tale and Beauty, Abyl-Oyuk Pass and majestic glaciers.

We'll reach the glacier observation deck, weather permitting.

Return to camp, dinner and rest

6 days

We'll have a free day today. We're on vacation.

Everyone will be able to spend it as you like: sleep longer, and can do yoga and other practices with a beautiful view, read a book, take chic photos or just sunbathe. The choice is yours.

7 days

After breakfast, we go to the radial exit - climbing the Pyramid Mountain, climbing 1180 m. The climb will be difficult, but the view of the lake changes dramatically. From the top of the mountain offers stunning views of lakes and snowy mountain ranges! You can see the mountains at great distances, with cloudless weather you can see even Belukha - the highest mountain of Altai, located at a distance of 70 kilometers from the viewing point!

We go down to camp, have dinner and rest.

8th day

Breakfast, gather camp, send horses and go back on the familiar path through the picturesque forests and flowering meadows on the right bank of the river Shavla to the confluence of the river Eshtykol and start climbing up the river.

9 days

After breakfast we gather camp, see off the horses and continue our journey. Today we will move to another valley, to the river Maash.

We will establish a camp on the banks of the Karakabak River, prepare dinner and relax

10 days

After breakfast, we go for a radial walk about 9 km into the valley of Karakabak lakes. High-mountain Karakabak lakes are one of the most rarely visited in the Altai Mountains. The lakes are known primarily for the color of their water - saturated turquoise, which changes its shade depending on the time of day. Here you get magnificent photos against the background of snow-capped mountains and sparkling glaciers.

Back to camp, dinner and rest.

11th day

After breakfast, we go back to the radial exit. Today we are going to walk up the valley of the Maashe River. To the third largest glacier of Altai, and the second longest. Until 2012, there was also a lake in the valley, which, alas, flowed out as a result of the mudflow. But we will be lucky to walk along its bottom and feel the full power of nature.

The path is rich in the location for gorgeous photos.

In the evening we go back to camp, cook dinner and bask by the campfire.

12 days

Breakfast, camping, for the last time =

Today is the final day of the trekking part of the route. We descend to civilization to the unfinished Chui (Aktash) HPP, about 11 km, without climbing, where we will be met by cars and taken to the base in the village of Aktash.

13th

After breakfast, we are waiting for the road back to Gorno-Altaisk again along the most beautiful Chui tract. On the way we will stop for lunch, and on the passes, where you can buy gifts and souvenirs. We share photos and videos and make new ones along the way. We remember the best moments of the trip and make plans for the next one! Travel is sure to continue and there are so many interesting places ahead!

Flight home or an independent overnight stay in Gorno-Altaisk (or in Barnaul).

Arrival time in Gorno-Altaisk about 16:00, in Barnaul about 20:00. Departure must be planned with a margin of at least 2 hours
