Climbing East Beluha

The highest point of the Altai Mountains - the two-headed beauty Belukha (4506 m, the ascent to the east, the highest peak with a C-V is estimated at 3A kt) has always been a desirable dream of most tourists and climbers of all generations. The first transit of Eastern Belukha was made from the south along the Gebler glacier in August 1914 by the Siberian brothers Tronov. From the north, from the pass "Delone", the traverse of the ridge through the peak of Tronov, to the top of Eastern Belukha for the first time in 1933, the training group of OPTE under the leadership of the famous Siberian mountaineer Vitaly Abalakov rose. Route programme:
Day 1: Meeting in Barnaul at 7:00. Transfer to Tungur. 750 km, 12-13 hours. Accommodation in 3-seat tents on special. A place with a canopy, firewood and firewood. Meet the guide. Dinner at the cafe.

Day 2: Trekking t / b "High-altitude" (850 m) - Kuzuyak pass (1 513 m) - Three birch clearing. Overnight in tents at the Three Birches. Active part of the route: 17 km, 4-5 hours.

Day 3: Trekking "Three birches" - mountain shelter "Ak-Kem" (1,950 m). The trail goes along the river. The place where the snow-white peak of Belukha is first seen is called “panorama”. Mountain shelter "Ak-Kem" is located 1.5 km below the famous lake Ak-Kem, by a stream with a waterfall. Accommodation in 3rd stationary tents. The shelter has a bath, kitchen, dining room, ail, which plays the role of a club.

Active part of the route: 22 km, 7-8 hours on the way.

Day 4: Mountain shelter "Ak-Kem" - Ak-Kem glacier - Tomsk overnight stays (3000 m). Significant elevation up to 1,000 m. The flow of Ak-Kem on a shaky bridge at the beginning of the lake. The exit to the glacier is implicit. It is necessary to very carefully climb the porch and stony moraine to the left of the glacier for a long time in the course of climbing up. The icefall also goes to the left in the course of movement up the moraine. Overnight in a hut that stands on a rocky scum.

Active part of the route: 17 km, 6-8 hours.

Day 5: Classes on the glacier: insurance organization, technique of movement on ice in cats, work in bundles. Under favorable conditions - acclimatization exit under the Delaunay Pass (3,400 m).

Day 6: Start. Climbing. Early exit from the Tomsk overnight stay in full climbing equipment. Climb on Delaunay's shoulder before Delaunay Pass. Climb to the pass in bundles. The length of about 300 m snow-ice slope steepness of 35-45 degrees. The path on this day along the glacier is not easy. Establishment of base camp. Overnight on a glacier in tents. 7-8 a.m.

Day 7: Ascension to the top of the Eastern Belukha. From the glacier approach under the crest in the ligaments. Exit under the crest along the snow-ice slope in steep places up to 45 degrees. A further path up the rock-ice ridge leads to a gentle pretop ridge. Top (4,506 m). Descent on the way up. 7-8 hours.

Day 8: Reserve day in case of bad weather.

Day 9: Descent down. Base camp - Deolone Pass - Tomsk overnights - Mountain shelter Ak-Kem. Bath. Dinner in the dining room. 8-9 hours.

Day 10-11: Return to T/B “High-High-High-High” (possibly for 1 day of hard work, according to the well-being of the participants). Tent accommodation. Bathroom, dinner at the cafe.

Active part of the route: 39 km.

Day 12: After breakfast, leave for Barnaul.

Mountain trekking conditions:

Difficulty Route 3A and requires good physical training. Experience of climbing or mountain hiking is desirable. Weather conditions in the mountains change quite often .maximum elevation difference in the transitions of about 1000 m per day. Participants carry their personal belongings on their own. Children under 16 years old are not allowed on the route, 16-18 - accompanied by parents.
