Baikalsk is a city (since 1966) in Russia, a district subordination in the Slyudyansky district of the Irkutsk region. The population is 12 738 thousand people (2017).
Baikalsk is considered the snowiest and rainiest city on the shores of Lake Baikal, the average annual air temperature is + 0.9 C.
The city is located on the southern shore of Lake Baikal, 162 km south of Irkutsk. Railway station on the Trans-Siberian Railway.
