Belgorod State Art Museum
About the company:
In 1910, on Imperial Street, located in the city center, a 3-storey building was built by merchant Pivovarov. It houses the Orion Cinema. The building, which occupied the art museum from 1983 to 2007, was different, it consisted of 2 parts: the former Orion cinema and a 2-storey house that adjoined it. In the 1930s, there were shops, a department store, later a billiard store was located here. Part of the building was rented out for housing.
On December 12, 2004, the Government of the Belgorod Region No. 262 decided to build the Art Gallery. The new three-storey building was erected in 2006 - 2007 according to the project of architects V.Pertsev and V.Turchenko. The interior of the building is interesting for its smoothly changing space, curved outline of the walls, rich decor of carved wood, colored glass and wrought metal; when working on it, classical techniques of the style of "Russian Art Nouveau" were used.
