The museum was opened in 1988 in a specially built building. The exposition of the museum is dedicated to the life and work of a wonderful actor, the founder of realism on the Russian stage, Shchepkin M.S., the development of theatrical art in Belgorod region. The museum complex includes a reconstructed peasant estate of the second half of the XIX century. with all outbuildings in which items of peasant life are placed.
