Altai Ail House-Museum

The house-museum "Altai ail" was opened in the village of Novotyryshkino of the Altai Territory. The museum complex of the village consists of three parts dedicated to Siberian peasants, German settlers and indigenous residents of Altai. You can get acquainted with the traditions of the latter by visiting ail – the national housing of the Altai people. This is a small octagonal building with an earth floor and a domed ceiling. It was not customary to install furnaces in Aila, the dwelling was heated with an open hearth. Visitors to the new house-museum will be introduced to the life and culture of the Altaians, explain the purpose of the presented household items.
