Karakol lakes

Description:

Karakol lakes are located 223 km from Biysk in the Chemal district on the Iolgo mountain range and are one of the most beautiful and exotic corners of the Altai Mountains. There are seven. Translated from Altai "caracol" - black water. Tourists are given the opportunity to visit the real taiga and see the beauty of all seven lakes.

On the first day, the group follows from Biysk along the Chui tract to the village of Elikmanar. Then the car turns off the track into a hidden valley and drives through numerous fords to the horse-drawn base of the Tour. Here, tourists dine, relax, then baggage is loaded on horses, and they go up the trail along the rocky slope to the Karakol lakes. On average, the climb takes about three hours. Upon arrival at the lakes, the group sets up a tent camp, dines and rests, those who wish can steam in the bath. The next day, the group makes a radial exit to the Bogotás plateau (2400 meters) in the kingdom of alpine meadows and goes to the "Castle of Mountain Spirits". Such an amazing and long echo can be heard only here – among the stone ancient remains, as if the mountain spirits themselves look out of the rocks at people and respond to their voices. From this place opens a beautiful panorama of the entire Iolgo ridge. In the morning of 3 days, the group has breakfast, turns the camp and goes down to the base of the Tour, from where the car follows to G. Bijska.
