About the company:

On the Far Eastern theater poster, the Amur Drama Theater occupies one of the leading places. The date of its formation is December 1883, when the first performance with the participation of professional actors took place on the rented stage of the Annunciation City Public Assembly. It was “Inspector” based on the play by N.V. Gogol.

After a successful performance, the Public Assembly decided that it was necessary to acquire its own building and in 1886, a building was built on voluntary donations from citizens of all classes, in which the theater plays to this day. A spacious auditorium with excellent acoustics, a deep stage and comfortable rooms for the troupe invariably inspired visiting entrepreneurs, who, moreover, noted the presence of good theatrical taste in the Annunciation audience.

In 1920, the troupe received state status, and in the 30s the theater became a regional one. From 1948 to 1962, the Amur Drama Theatre was headed by Honored Artist, Honored Artist of Russia Nikolai Ivanovich Uralov, who had a strong influence on the theatrical process of the Far Eastern region: many classics were staged - Russian, foreign, Soviet. In 1983, the theater was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor.

The theater successfully toured in Harbin, Beijing, New York, brilliantly performed in the Far Eastern capital – Khabarovsk. The cooperation of Amur stage masters with famous Chinese film studios is very successful.
