Amur Region, Blagoveshchensk, Lenin Street, 165
About the company:
The museum was founded on 16 (28) August 1891. Its opening was preceded by an exhibition arranged by gold miners in honor of the arrival in Blagoveshchensk of the heir to the royal throne, Nicholas Alexandrovich Romanov, the future Emperor Nicholas II. The museum is located in one of the most beautiful buildings of the city, in which in the late XIX - early XX centuries there was a universal store of the trading house "Kunst and Albers". Since 1993, the museum bears the name of the famous scientist and local historian G.S. Novikov-Daursky.
The museum stores more than 160 thousand items on the nature, history and culture of the Amur region, many of which are unique: armor of the Japanese samurai of the XVII century, costumes and attributes of the Daurian and Evenki shamans of the late XIX - early XX centuries, the Ust-Nyukzhinsky meteorite, a collection of art objects of the East, etc.
