The chapel of the icon of the Mother of God "Life-bearing spring" over the spring

In the Suzdal district of the Vladimir region, in the village of Bogolyubovo rises one of the oldest monasteries of Russia - Holy Bogolyubsky monastery. According to the chronicle legend, the place for the construction of the city and the monastery was indicated to Prince Andrei Bogolyubsky by the Mother of God herself, appearing to him during prayer.

On the southern slope of the hill, steeply descending from the walls of the Bogolyubov monastery to the elder of the Klyazma River and the monastery ponds, there is a miraculous spring with a font. In the period of active restoration of the monastery, since 2001, a chapel in honor of the icon of the Mother of God "Life-bearing spring" appeared over the spring. The snow-white building of the chapel under the blue roof is hidden under the shade of trees. The place here is quiet, beautiful, bringing peace to the heart. Believers come to the source for healing of the soul and body.

In the stone building of the chapel there are two separate fonts: one for monastic women, the other for pilgrims. You can enter the worldly font only with the blessing of the duty sister, she will give out the keys. In order to get to the source, you need to bypass the almost two-kilometer monastery fence and go down a steep iron staircase. The sisters themselves walk through a gate in the south wall of the monastery.

Water from the spring is supplied upstairs to the monastery, including to the kivorium (water-holy tent), so you can drink holy water or fill it with a stored container directly on the territory of the monastery.
