Description:
The Bogoroditsky Palace and Park is the former possession of Catherine II, which after the death of the Empress was inherited by her son Count A.G. Bobrinsky. The palace (1774-1785) and the nearby Kazan church (1774-1778) were laid by the projects of I.E. Starov. The green frame of the palace complex was created in the 1780s by a prominent figure of the Enlightenment A.T. Bolotov. Thanks to Bolotov, children’s theater was born in Bogoroditsk as a phenomenon of social life.

The best part of the exposition of the museum consists of works of applied art K. XVIII-nach. XIX centuries, sculpture, lifetime editions of Bolotov, copies of his watercolors with views of former park wonders.

Building(s):
The palace and the Kazan church are examples of early Russian classicism, and the park is the firstborn of Russian landscape park building.
