Monument to Arkady Gaidar

The monument to Arkady Petrovich Gaidar in the city of Bor is located in the courtyard of school No. 9 on the street Communist. Today, the school is renamed the Lyceum, but the monument stands in its former place. And it's no accident. Despite the recent controversy surrounding the controversial biography of the writer, he was and remains a classic of children’s and youth literature.

The monument itself is a gray growth sculpture depicting the writer in the military uniform of the Red Army - a gymnast and a commander's papache. Gaidar is captured in the movement going forward. The pedestal of the monument is decorated with groups of bas-reliefs. On the left is a horse detachment, galloping under a fluttering banner. The center depicts groups of children traditionally holding symbols of different sciences.
