The museum is located in one of the buildings of the estate of Father Leonid (Malyshev), a priest of the Brotherly Epiphany Church. In 1913, Father Leonid handed over the building to a group of members of the Society for the Study of Siberia and the Improvement of its Life (exiled settlers - Bolsheviks, Mensheviks, Narodols, local intelligentsia - teacher Karpov M.E.), which opened a house-reading room and a museum of local lore. An inventory of exhibits from 1913 has been preserved. |
