In the modern cultural consciousness, the State Memorial Historical and Literary Museum-Reserve "Ovstugh" is inextricably linked with the personality and work of the great poet, philosopher, lyricist, thinker - Fyodor Ivanovich Tyutchev - the creator of such lyrical masterpieces as "We are not given to predict", "Wizard winter ...", "There is in the autumn of the original ...", "Oh, how murderous we love", "I met you".

Much in Tyutchev’s poems of the late 40s and 50s of the 19th century is clearly connected with his frequent trips to Ovstugh at that time. In 1985, Poetry Day, held in Ovstuga, became an All-Union holiday.
