Lathe monument

Bryansk, Akademika Korolev Street, near Lyceum No. 9

Description:

Unusual and probably the only monument of its kind to the lathe is installed in Bryansk. The 1940 lathe was installed in honor of the 40th anniversary of vocational education in 1980, as a reminder of the labor feat of young workers during the war. The pedestal of the monument reflects episodes of the Great Patriotic War, when young workers did everything possible and impossible to ensure the victory of our army. Next to the pedestal of the stele, which depicts a five-pointed star and the dates of 1941-1945. Four mines are attached below. Under the coinage the inscription: "Forged victory." Performing double standards on such machines, young workers during the Great Patriotic War made mines for the front.

Initially, the monument was erected on Pokrovskaya Hill next to the educational buildings of Bryansk SGPTU No. 2. Later, after the merger of the second and ninth professional lyceums into one educational institution and the transfer of the building on the Pokrovskaya Hill to the diocese, the monument was moved to the lyceum No. 9, in the Volodarsky district of Bryansk.
