GAUK Bryansk Regional Planetarium was opened on September 23, 1977. It was located in a historical place on Pokrovskaya Hill in the building of the Gorno-Nikolskaya Church.
From the first days of its existence, the planetarium became a Star House. Here with pleasure came the children, then they brought their mothers and fathers, grandparents. Gradually, the planetarium has its own professional holidays and traditions.
At the origins of the creation of the planetarium was an enthusiast devoted to his work Mitrofanov Andrey Fedorovich.
During his work as director of the institution, L.N. Zhuchkova had a “unique period” of combining the temple and the planetarium at the same time. In the evening and morning, church services were held, the rest of the time was devoted to planetary programs.
