About the company:
Bryansk State Museum of Local Lore is one of the oldest museums in the Bryansk region. It was opened on September 1, 1921. Its creator and first director is a local historian and archaeologist S.S. Deev.
During the Great Patriotic War, the museum collection was lost. After the liberation of the Bryansk region from the occupiers, work was carried out for several years to form collections and create a new exposition.
In 1982, the construction of the modern museum building on Partizan Square was completed.
Today, the Bryansk Museum of Local Lore has become truly a treasury of the historical heritage of the region. The exposition and museum collections present about 290 thousand items: unique archaeological collections, treasures of Arabic and ancient Russian coins, handwritten and old printed books, samples of Maltsov glass, peasant clothes and utensils, relics of the F.I. Tyutchev family and the partisan movement.
About the plant and animal world of the Bryansk region tell the exhibits of the department of nature. Here you can see samples of ancient breeds, petrified plants and the remains of animals that once inhabited this territory.
A separate hall is reserved for the exposition of the Planetarium department. There is a dome for the demonstration of astrospace programs and a Foucault pendulum, the exhibition “Aspired into space” is decorated.
