D.N. Medvedev Memorial Museum

“Strong in spirit” – so called one of his books the famous Chekist Dmitry Nikolaevich Medvedev. It is about him, a strong spirit man, during his lifetime became a legend, tells the residents and guests of the city of Bryansk unique, the only museum in the country Hero of the Soviet Union D.N. Medvedev.

The museum was opened on May 4, 1975, since 2016 it has been a branch of the Bryansk State Museum of Local History.

About the life of D.N. Medvedev – an employee of the NKVD, a valiant partisan, commander of the guerrilla special forces “Mitya” and “Victors”, a famous Soviet writer – and partisans-Medvedevtsy now tell thousands of exhibits of the museum, including genuine photos, tape recordings with the memories of partisans, video materials about the work of intelligence officers and counterintelligence officers. The museum also recreated the writer’s office.
