Lake Bright

Cheboksary district, Chuvash Republic, Russia

Description:

One of the attractions of the Natural Park "Zavolzhye" in Chuvashia is a picturesque lake with a beautiful name Svetloye. It stretches in the Cheboksary district, 1.5 kilometers from the Parat River. At a distance of 20 kilometers from the lake is a large village Sosnovka.

Like most lakes of the Chuvash Republic, Lake Svetloye has a karst origin. Its shape is stretched from northeast to southwest oval with axes of 350 and 500 meters. The total area is 13 hectares, and the greatest depth is about 16 meters.

The lake is not for nothing given such a name. The water in it is exceptionally clean and transparent (2 meters), while there is no smell and color. In summer, it warms up to a temperature of 22 degrees above zero Celsius.

Due to the uniqueness of the local flora and fauna, the lake is recognized as a natural monument of republican significance. The beauty, clean air, lush vegetation, the surrounding Lake Light and the abundance of various types of fish have become a favorite holiday destination for local residents.
