About the company:

The Museum “Bichurin and Modernity” was opened in the small homeland of N.Ya.Bichurin in 2001. Today it is a local landmark, a repository of monuments of material and spiritual culture of residents inhabiting the Cheboksary municipal district. The museum has a local history profile. Funds have more than 11 thousand units of storage.

The pearl of the museum is the hall “Scientific feat of Bichurin”. The exposition is dedicated to the founder of the Russian school of sinology and Mongolian studies, the Demidov Prize laureate N.Ya.Bichurin (1777-1835), the monastic name is Father Jakinth. The exposition tells about his achievements, supplemented by scientific works of the scientist and decorated in the form of a reading room.

The museum is interesting because there are master classes on the Chinese theme: Chinese tea ceremony, “Hello, Chinese language”, “Write numbers in hieroglyphics”.

On the territory adjacent to the museum there are spaces "Chuvashsky Yard" and "Bichurinsky Garden". The roof of the building is decorated in the form of a Chinese pagoda, which makes the museum more attractive.
