Description:

The predecessor of the modern company "Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant" was a state enterprise, which was founded in 1942 on the basis of the Mariupol Pipe Plant, evacuated to Chelyabinsk during the war.

The first batch of products was released in October 1942, and seven years later the Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant began its activity as an independent enterprise. It was here that for the first time in the Soviet Union the industrial production of water and gas pipeline pipes was mastered by the method of continuous furnace welding. A few years later, the production of large diameter pipes began. By the 1970s, the Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant became the world’s largest enterprise, producing more than three million tons of products annually.

In May 1993, when the privatization program was being implemented throughout the country, the Chelyabinsk Pipe Rolling Plant changed its form of ownership - it became an open joint-stock company, and subsequently privatized. Today, the company remains one of the leaders in its industry.
