Ignatievskaya cave

Description:

Among the numerous natural monuments of the Urals, the Ignatievskaya cave near the village of Serpievka, a world-renowned center of primitive art, stands out. In the far part of the Ignatievskaya cave, drawings of primitive people have been preserved, representing realistic images of a bull, a mammoth, other animals and undeciphered symbols. It is believed that the drawings in the Ignatiev cave were made more than 14 thousand years ago. In importance Ignatievskaya cave can be compared with such famous caves as Altamira in Spain, Lascaux in France, Kapova in Bashkiria. Like Kapova, Ignatievskaya Cave is one of the largest in its karst region and in the Southern Urals: the total length of its moves is more than half a kilometer. The huge entrance, about 12 meters across, fascinates anyone who sees it.
