Vologda region, Cherepovets district, Vladimirovka, Severyanina street, 1

About the company:

The Literary Museum is located 40 kilometers from Cherepovets near the village of Vladimirovka, on the banks of the rivers Sudy and Kemza, surrounded by a coniferous forest. This picturesque place in the middle of the XIX century became the poetic cradle of the future poet Igor Severyanin. Here he spent holidays during his studies in Cherepovets real school and came here already a famous person.

The two-storey manor house was built by the poet’s uncle M.P. Lotarev. The wonderful nature of these places left an indelible mark in the soul of the poet and awakened in him, according to his own admission, poetic inspiration. From the sweet heart of the northern corner, he took a poetic name - the Northerner. Today in a large manor house there is an exposition telling about the history of the estate and its former owners, about the most famous representative of the Lotarev family - the poet Severyanin.

The exposition presents archival photographs, textbooks with the mark of the real school, where Igor Severyanin studied, a true mirror. The daughter of the estate manager Alexander Spirichev told how the poet, being a gymnasium student, repeatedly came to Vladimirovka to his uncle Mikhail Lotarev, because he was in love with his daughter Lizaveta. To please his cousin, the Northerner stood in front of the mirror for a long time and carefully drew the antennae that had just broken through with ink. The mirror is perfectly preserved.
