Museum "House of I.A. Milyutin"

Vologda region, Cherepovets, Revolution Square, 1

About the company:

The museum carefully preserves the memory of an outstanding public figure, industrialist, educator Ivan Andreevich Milyutin.

During his almost half a century of activity as mayor, seven educational institutions, a public library, a museum, a bookstore, a pharmacy, a printing house, an almshouse at the cathedral, a sanctuary house in the name of St. Philip and Mary were opened in Cherepovets; a harbor was created; street lighting was arranged, a telephone connection was conducted. Thanks to the efforts of Milyutin, the Northern Railway passed through the city entrusted to him.

Built on a high hill near the main city cathedral and towering over the Sheksna River, the house is located in such a way that a wide panorama of the river expanse opened near its southern part. The composition of the estate harmoniously fits into the unity of the natural landscape and architecture.
