Throughout its length, the ridge is interspersed with gorges. On the western side of the slope there is a pine-leaf forest and cedar-fir taiga. The eastern slope is mainly dominated by hardwood forests. In the lowlands of the Barguzin ridge there are natural sources of pure mineral water.
