Aginsky District Museum of Local History named after G. Tsybikov

The state cultural institution "Aginsky National Museum named after G. Tsybikov" is a research institution, the keeper of the material and spiritual culture of the Aginsky Buryat District and the Trans-Baikal Territory as a whole.

The museum was founded in 1961 and was previously called the Aginsky District Museum of Local Lore. Entries in the Book of Revenues have been kept since April 1, 1961. Today, the number of items of the main fund is about 10 thousand. More than four thousand of them are in the exhibition.

The museum consists of several halls. It is a hall of nature, archaeology, ethnography, the history of self-government, Buddhism, revolution and civil war, military glory, modern achievements, power structures, culture, literature, sports.
