Akshi Museum of Local Lore

The monument of architecture of wooden architecture was built by individual order of a gold miner. Work on the creation of the museum began in June 1981. In the early 80s, materials, exhibits were sought and collected, the first exposition “Our region in the pre-revolutionary period” was decorated. May 9, 1985 the exposition to the 40th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War was opened. In November, the Ministry of Culture of the RSFSR awarded the museum the title “People’s Museum”. In 1988, the states were approved, and the museum itself was elevated to the status of a branch of the regional museum of local history.

The most valuable (unique) collections: personal fund No. 13 V.Y. Kokosov, a collection of products of the original master I.A. Yanov from natural materials, a collection of drawings and paintings of the artist-countryman G.A. Shcheglov, a collection of products and drawings of the original artist B.D. Dolzhinov, a collection of coins of the IX-XXX centuries, a collection of archaeological objects of the end of the I millennium BC, Neolithic, a collection of ethnography of the XIX-XX centuries, tools, clothes, banners.

To date, more than 21,000 storage units have been processed and registered in the museum funds. Expositions are deployed in 7 halls of the museum.
