Sightseeing tour of Derbent.

We invite you to take an express walk around Derbent – the oldest city in Russia, which is a real open-air museum.

Naryn-Kala Citadel
The focus will be on the main symbol of Derbent – a powerful fortress that has stood guard over the surrounding lands for centuries. You will see a fragment of the Khan’s palace and stone baths, get acquainted with the architecture of the residence of the Persian Shahs and trace key milestones in the rich history of the medieval monument.

Old neighborhoods
You will pass through the ancient gates of Dubara Capa, visit the most picturesque part of the city and understand the typical device of Derbent magals. Along the way, get acquainted with the life, traditions and culture of the local residents. On the way we will see the famous shopping area, where the shopping center of medieval Derbent used to be.

We will visit the memorial house - the museum of A.A. Bestuzhev-Marlinsky, which consists of a stone two-storey house and a courtyard located in the old part of the city (magala). Today the museum building is a monument of federal significance.

juma mosque
On the territory of the oldest of the existing mosques in Russia, we will tell about the period of Arab conquests, the beginning of the spread of Islam in the region and the centuries-old path of the Muslim shrine. Here you will see the mighty old plane trees, listed as natural monuments.

Not far from the Juma Mosque is the Maiden Bath, built on the type of ancient baths of the East designed only for unmarried girls.

As a result, in three hours, thanks to a well-designed program, you will get a voluminous idea of the main attractions of Derbent in a minimum time.
