Trout Lake - Gorge of Gonachhir
Description:
It is a walking tour for those who do not like to walk. Gonachhir is deservedly considered one of the most beautiful gorges in the world. The path runs along an asphalt road right up to the lake. This road was formerly called the Sukhumi Military Road, and the Great Silk Road passed through this gorge in the Middle Ages. And in the early 20th century, the famous joint-union route No. 43 passed here through the Klukhor Pass to the Black Sea.
In winter, the Gorge of Gonachhir is closed to visitors. This is a favorite place of freeriders, where there are many off-road routes, along which they descend down on skis of the peak of Moussa-Achitar. And summer is a popular holiday destination. The water in the lake warms up and you can swim. Cars, people, buses on the shore are invisible.
The trout lake (Tumanly-Köl) is most beautiful in May - when the snow has not melted from the slopes and the mountains with snow are reflected in the blue surface of the lake. Gorge Gonachhir can not leave anyone indifferent.
