On September 4, 1937, by the decision of the Presidium of the Taimyr Okrispolkom of the Krasnoyarsk Territory in Dudinka, the Taimyr District Museum of Local History was created. Throughout its history, the Taimyr Museum of Local History is a collector and custodian of collections reflecting the nature, history of Taimyr, culture of the peoples living here. The collections of the museum number more than 74 thousand exhibits, among which many rare unique exhibits. The pride of the museum is the ethnographic collections characterizing the life and culture of the indigenous peoples of the Taimyr-Nganasan peninsula, the Enets, the Nenets, the Dolgans, the Evenks. The unique part of the collections includes items related to the religious representations of the Nganasans - the oldest people of Taimyr. Of particular interest to science are cult collections of idols, amulets, sets of shaman costumes. More than 40 thousand exhibits make up the documentary and photographic fund. The annual collection of exhibits by the museum staff is about 2 thousand. The fund collections of the Taimyr District Museum of Local Lore are the source base of the museum’s research and educational activities. The importance of collections in research work is especially great in the conditions of a shortage of literary sources on the history of Taimyr. The results of research are used by hundreds of people. Every day, the museum staff provides advice, information on history, nature and culture for various institutions and the media. Publishing is under way.
Every year, at least 10-12 exhibitions are created in the Taimyr Museum of Local Lore, including mobile ones, which are issued in schools, libraries, preschool institutions, in exhibition halls of various regions of Russia - in Moscow, Norilsk, St. Petersburg, Minusinsk. In 2003, in the city of Novosibirsk, at the competition of exhibitions "Fresh art of Siberia", the museum staff was awarded the Great Gold Medal for modern design and high art exposition. More than 10,000 people visit the museum every year. This year the museum will celebrate its 70th anniversary. And in this festive, significant year, it is planned to open a new building of KSUK "Taimyr Museum of Local History", which will create a modern cultural and historical center. Today we can rightly call TCM the northernmost state museum of Russia - a treasury of historical and cultural monuments of the peoples living on Taimyr. |

С праздником, дорогие жители г. Дудинка! Я Арчикова - Писарева Любовь Ивановна - внучка Арчикова Григория Николаевича умершего в 1951 году, племяница Арчикова Николая Григорьевича и Арчикова Валентина Григорьевича. Но был еще дядя -он погиб во время войны. Был призван из Дудинки Я была в Дудинке примерно в 1976 году и видела в Вашем музее страницу о Арчиковых. Они прожили там порядка 40лет. Очень хотелось передать внукам память о моем погибшем дяде в полк БЕССМЕРТИЯ! Живу в г.Кемерово.Кузбасс. мне 73 года. Просьба не отказать моей просьбе! Спасибо!
