The Kolyada Theatre is a provocative theater, shocking with its plays, which are successfully performed throughout Russia and abroad (Italy, USA, France, Canada, Australia). But only in Yekaterinburg, the actor, director and playwright Nikolai Kolyada has his own stage, on which he has been putting the creations of Shakespeare, Chekhov, Pushkin and Gogol, as well as his works, for 10 years.
"Kolyada-theater" inside resembles an ordinary house - with drawers, floorboards, photos on the walls and a samovar: before the performance, spectators will have hot tea with cookies, and at the threshold they are often met by the director himself. The living form creates old things that Kolyada collected. In general, Kolyada’s house, against the background of classical theaters that have become exhausted, looks like something specially beautiful. The repertoire of the Yekaterinburg Theatre has 23 performances: eight performances for children and 15 for adults. Any viewer can choose a performance to his taste.
