To the homeland of Mamina-Sibiryak

Description:

“Visim is the birthplace of Dmitry Narkisovich Mamin-Sibiryak.” It is located just 56 km south-west of Nizhny Tagil. The writer, known to all Urals from school, was born in the Visimo-Shaitan village, which was part of the Nizhny Tagil mining district. He spent his childhood here. Today, tourists visit the museum dedicated to Mamin-Sibiryak, which includes a house that once belonged to him and a parish school, where the writer’s father Narkis Matveevich Mamin taught. In summer, tourists can take a walk to Mount Shikhan and from the observation deck see the magnificent panorama of the village surrounded by spurs of the Ural Mountains. “Sweet green mountains,” wrote Mamin-Sibiryak, “they undulated in the bluish haze of the horizon.”

On this tour you will get acquainted with the history of the Demidov Visimo-Shaitan factory, see the life in which the Ural writer D.N. Mamin-Sibiryak lived and worked, visit the maral farm and admire the White Mountain.
