620086 Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk region, Ganina Yama tract.
Description:
The most popular place of pilgrimage in Yekaterinburg is the Monastery in the name of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers, located in an abandoned mine - Ganina Yama. Earlier, the royal family of Nicholas II was shot here.
The year 2000 was marked by the laying of the bowed cross. After three years, seven temples were built, according to the number of martyrs killed. The main temple, which is part of the monastery complex, is consecrated in the name of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers, where a powerful cross is kept, containing the relics of forty saints of God and a part of the Life-Creating Cross of the Lord.
The following two temples were consecrated in the name of St. Seraphim of Sarov and St. Sergius of Radonezh. The temple is small, but quite cozy. Above the gate is the Temple in honor of the Iberian Icon of the Mother of God, which is considered to be the intercessor. Further, the monastery complex complements the Temple, consecrated in honor of the icon of the Mother of God “Sovereign” – the largest temple. As a result of the fire, it completely burned down, and restoration work is underway.
The most beautiful temple on the territory of the monastery is the Temple of St. Nicholas, the World of the Lycian Wonderworker. The church is distinguished by the presence of 17 domes, the number is not taken by chance - this is the day of the massacre of the royal family. The temple in the name of St. Job the Long-suffering is part of the complex. It is connected to the hierarchical chambers by a gallery.
