New-Pokrovsk Church of the Intercession Women's Monastery

Description:

The Novo-Pokrovskaya church of the Pokrovskaya convent is located in the village of Pokrovskoe, which was formerly known as Salka, and later Nikolskoe. Pokrovskoye village got its name after the construction of a small wooden church in it, built at the personal funds of the Demidovs - the family of large factory owners. On February 12, 1856, the temple was consecrated in honor of the Intercession of the Most Holy Mother of God.

Later, instead of the old wooden and already dilapidated church, they began to build a stone church in 1915, consecrated in 1918. This temple became known as the Novo-Pokrovsky Church, which belongs to the Pokrovsky Women's Monastery. The church has been active for a long time. Between 1941 and 1991 it was closed for worship. To this day, she came almost without damage.
