Lake Iset
Description:
Lake Iset is located seventeen kilometers from Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk region. It is considered one of the best picturesque places in the Urals. In length, the lake extends for eight kilometers, and its width is four kilometers. Despite its size, the depth of the lake is relatively small - 2-3 meters. On the shores of the lake are the village of Iset, the villages of Murzinka and Koptyaki, the city of Sredneuralsk and Sredneuralskaya GRES.
The waters of Lake Iset feed seven different streams and rivers, at the same time the Iset River originates here. To regulate the water level, a dam was built, it is near it that the most fish places are located. There are several islands on the lake and each of them is interesting. In the center is the largest of them - Solovetsky. Three centuries ago, there was an Old Believer hermitage here, which, unfortunately, has sunk into oblivion.
On the island of Krasnyny, shaped like a loaf, traces of an ancient man were found - the remains of a dwelling, clay shards and arrowheads from flint. On the island of Stone were found rock paintings painted with red ochre. Studies have shown that the images of birds were made in the third millennium BC. Also ancient drawings can be seen on the stone Pisanets, located north of the island of Stone.
For those wishing to relax on the lake for several days, a recreation center "Iset" was built, and the sandy Cape Tolstik will be the most suitable place for swimming in the summer heat.
