Patrushiha River
Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk region, Russia
Description:
Patrushikha is a river with a length of about 25 kilometers. It takes place in Russia, in the city of Yekaterinburg. Patrushiha originates from Lake Karasie. The area of its basin is about 283 square kilometers. Until the beginning of 1930, it was called "Uktus", and the name "Patrushha" this river received in honor of the Secretary of the Office of the Main Board of the plant, captain and lieutenant Ivan Fedorovich Patrushev, who lived here in 1721-1722.
The river itself is not very deep or wide, but because it is blocked in several places, reservoirs have appeared in its valleys. In the clay quarries of the river, bones of mammoths and other animals of the Ice Age were found.
In the period from 1681 to 1683, Lev Poskochin conducted a census of the Tobolsk district. The names of all villages indicate the rivers on the banks of which they were located, which allowed them to reliably localize their geographical location. Then there were only three courtyards near the Uktus River, and already at the census of 1695 there were three villages, which suggests that living on the bank of this river was very profitable and comfortable for that time.
