Description:
Residents of Yekaterinburg have something to be proud of: a large number of interesting museums, theaters, architectural monuments, parks and ancient estates are concentrated here. One of these prides is the Rastorguev-Kharitonov estate, which was created during the XVIII - XIX centuries.
The organizer of the construction was the merchant Lev Rastorguev in 1974. Continued his business Pyotr Kharitonov, to whom the estate passed into possession in 1923. On the surrounding estate, he laid a wonderful garden.
The architecture of the estate is designed in the style of classicism, inherent in that time. Due to the asymmetrical composition, the building is distinguished by its originality among the streets of the city. The park is behind the house. There, in the middle of the park, is a lake with a beautiful rotunda. The lake was created artificially. The vegetation of the park is unique: some trees growing in the lower zone are more than 200 years old. Therefore, many of them are the oldest plants in the city of Yekaterinburg.
The largest park in the city is considered Kharitonovsky Garden, adjacent to the estate.
There are many legends associated with the estate. One of them is the presence of underground passages leading to the park and wine cellar, but which were later walled up.
