Photo Museum "Metenkov House"

Photographic Museum "House of Metenkov" was opened on August 10, 1998 "Connecting the times of the invisible thread" museum shows a century and a half of the development of photography in Yekaterinburg: the earliest picture, not counting the daguerreotype, dates back to 1863, and the latest - 1999. The main themes of the exhibition are the history of the city and the history of the country through the eyes of photographers, in all the variety of photographic styles and genres. Museum staff conduct research work in the archives of the city. Most of the photos presented in historical photo projects are printed for the first time with the original author's negatives.

In the exhibition halls of the museum, exhibitions of contemporary authors change every month, the museum looks for new names in photography and gives photographers complete freedom to express themselves. The Yekaterinburg Open Photo Festival is held every two years. Virtual versions of exhibitions are published on the museum website
