About the company:

The Museum of History of Yekaterinburg is one of the oldest museums in the city, leading its history since 1940. After the global transformation in 1995, the former Sverdlov Memorial Museum acquired a new name and status – a museum of the history of the city.
The mission of the museum is to study and popularize the history of Yekaterinburg, contributing to the consolidation of the urban community and the formation of a regional identity. Exhibitions, educational programs and research initiatives for the collection, restoration and preservation of unique artifacts of the 18th and 21st centuries serve as ways to achieve these goals.
The museum is located in the building of the early XIX century, which is a monument of history and culture. The main building was built in 1820 by postmaster G. Laishevsky, the wing was completed in 1837 by mining engineer A. G. Kachka. During its existence, it was a hotel, a noble estate, an apartment house, a residential house with communal apartments. In the late XIX - early XX century, the building housed the famous private library of S. A. Tikhotskaya.

On the basis of the museum there is a Children's Museum Center - a special museum space that stimulates the creative and cognitive activity of children and combines in its structure an exhibition hall, a theater and research area and a creative workshop. Theatrical and artistic master classes, reconstructions of national holidays, interactive classes on the history of the city are held here.
