About the company:

The museum was officially announced on May 25, 1992, initially as a branch of the Sverdlovsk Regional Museum of Local History (until 1999). The museum is located in the very center of the historical development of the city of Yekaterinburg, on the territory of the estate of the former pharmacy of the Yekaterinburg Mining Department, built according to the project of the famous Ural architect Mikhail Malakhov in 1821. Despite later alterations, the complex retained the typical appearance of the city estate of the Classical era. Now the museum building is an architectural monument of federal significance.

The main exposition of the museum acquaints visitors with the history of artistic stone processing of the XIX - early XX century, malachite products, works of the plant "Russian gems" in the XX century and modern author's stone-cutting and jewelry art.

The object of pride of the museum collection are stone carvings and jewelry of the world-famous company K. Faberge (they can be seen in the Golden Pantry). Since 2015, the Emerald Room has been very popular. For young visitors, the Bazhov Hall is constantly working, uniting amazing works of metal and stone of the world of Bazhov tales and a unique cultural monument of the beginning of the XXI century - large painted lacquer panels - works of Palekh masters.

Every month, the museum opens new exhibitions of various topics on the profile of collections, lectures, creative meetings and master classes.
