Rezhev Historical Museum

The modern “Rezhevsk Historical Museum” was originally a public museum, opened on the initiative of Vladimir Vasilyevich Tokarev on October 4, 1990. and was based mainly on his personal enthusiasm, faith in a bright future and the help of several like-minded people.
But gradually the material accumulated, the residents of the city did not remain indifferent, replenishing the funds of the museum, the staff showed wonders of ingenuity to give the museum a chance to survive, not to mention its prosperity, and in 1993. The museum handed over the building on the street Krasnoarmeyskaya, 3. The building itself in the past served as a parish school for boys, which itself is already a historical monument. Two years later, the museum becomes a city local history museum, and three more years later - a city historical museum.
In 2007, the museum acquired the status of a legal entity, its structure includes a branch - the Cheremis Historical and Literary Museum with the head - Valentina Maksimovna Besova.
