Yekaterinburg: where to go? Museum of History and Archaeology of the Urals

Description:

There are more than 50 museums in our city, and tourists often wonder where to go.
What to include in your program of visiting Yekaterinburg, my advice is to visit the Museum of History and Archaeology of the Urals.

Why him?
This building is part of one of the 14 buildings of our famous Chekists Town. In the 1930s, the Soviet Union created a new era - houses-communes, built new housing for the new Soviet man. And Sverdlovsk got into this experiment, and it was in it that the Association of Modern Architects from Moscow under the direction of Moses Ginzburg worked. And in the end, we have about 150 houses of the Constructivist era that decorate our city.

Inside, be sure to pay attention to the unique objects of constructivism - a circular staircase and huge windows.

The museum houses the world-famous archaeological collection
Shigir Pantry. The age of the Shigir idol, more than 11,000 years, is the oldest wooden sculpture on earth. Here you will see more than 600 samples of the era of Shigir culture, and touch the worldview of the ancient peoples who lived in the Urals.

- many halls will tell about different stages of development of the Middle Urals,
ancient people, the first men's factories, the era of Demidov factories, Old Believers, the Urals in the revolution, Sverdlovsk as a rear city.

The museum is located at 69/10 Lenin Street, Monday, Tuesday.

It is better, of course, after a sightseeing tour to visit it to understand more deeply and Yekaterinburg and the Urals as a whole.
