The monument to I. I. Shishkin is located in the city of Elabuga. The famous landscape painter was born in this city, his parents lived here all their lives. They did a lot for Elabuga: they participated in electrification, construction of water supply and sewerage systems, restoration of the archaeological monument Devil's Fortress.
A bronze monument on Naberezhnaya Street, next to the house-museum of I. I. Shishkin appeared in 1991 and depicts Shishkin in full growth, with brushes in one hand and a frame for a picture in the other. The artist’s gaze is directed towards Shishkin ponds and the Toima River. The author of the monument was the sculptor Y. Orekhov.
