The Museum of District Medicine named after V.M. Bekhterev is part of the Elabuga State Reserve, dedicated to Vladimir Bekhterev and medicine of the XIX century.
The museum was established in 2007 and is located in the building of the former Zemstvo hospital. The expositions of the museum cover 300 square meters and are located in five halls.
The museum recreates the interiors of the doctor’s office, the healer’s house, a pharmacy, children’s and operating rooms and a mental hospital. There are also expositions dedicated to the development of medicine, from the XIX century to the present day. One of the halls is dedicated to the famous doctor, scientist with a world name - Vladimir Bekhterev.
Also in the museum there are medical items of the XIX century - medical books, scientific articles of Bekhterev, medical instruments and personal belongings of doctors.
