Country of Bumba

The country of Bumba is the main place of action of the songs of the Kalmyk heroic epic “Dzhangar”. In this excursion you will visit the Mekletinsky Pink Lake, walk along the sandy “singing” barchans of Kalmykia, and also see how the water burns in the Burning Spring.

The way visitors move along the route is by foot.

  Visit to the Rose Lake - the route passes along the shores of the salty Mekletinsky lakes, in the water of which the microscopic crustacean Artemia Salina lives, which stains the water pink and takes part in the formation of therapeutic mud, which is used in the treatment of skin diseases and the production of cosmetics.

  A visit to Singing Barchanam. In ancient times, there were parking lots of different nomadic peoples on the sands. On the blown slopes of the hills and now you can find fragments of clay vessels and arrowheads of Yam, catacomb, Sarmatian and Scythian cultures. On the sand barchans you can find various animals: lizards, snakes, exotic birds.

  A visit to the Burning Spring: it ignites water if you properly bring a lit match.
