Buzza lake

Russia, Republic of Kalmykia, Yashkul district

Description:

Lake Buzga is located in Kalmykia, in the steppe, on the vast expanses of the Black Lands. Translated from Kalmyk, the name of the lake is translated as “good”. Buzga is a lake with clean, transparent water. Nominally it refers to fresh water, but the taste of the water is still barely brackish. Located 25 kilometers from the village of Yashkul, the reservoir appeared not so long ago: in 1978, the second stage of the canal of the Chernozemel irrigation system (Yashkul branch) was commissioned, and Lake Buzga became its natural completion. And it is the discharge water of the Yashkul distribution channel that feeds the lake.

The eastern shore of the lake, which has a rounded neat shape, steep, washed with water, clay. On the western side of Buzgi, the shore is a gentle meadow with grass and a small cozy grove of hanging trees. The depth of the lake is on average 2 meters, in the deepest place - 8 meters.
