Kalmyk Republican Local History Museum

National Museum named after N.N. Palmov is the only museum in Elista (Republic of Kalmykia), where unique exhibits of history, archeology and culture of the Kalmyk peoples are collected.

The museum was established in March 1921 and has 2 buildings with an area of 1500 square meters. The total number of works is approximately 70 thousand units. The building is divided into several divisions: the department of funds, the exposition department for the problems of the history of the region and the department for the protection of monuments and historical heritage.

The museum often hosts seminars, exhibitions, conferences, thematic evenings, where everyone can discuss the problems of the Kalmyk population, as well as the work of outstanding world-class figures.
