The cultural and spiritual center of the Krasnoyarsk Territory was founded as a military prison by the Cossacks - pioneers of the development of Siberia. Located on the main waterway of the future Krasnoyarsk Territory, the fortress receives an impetus for development and has long served as a regional center and a transshipment point on Russia’s path to the east.

At dawn, the most important stratum of the city’s population were merchants whose activities contributed to the economic rise of Yeniseysk. Merchants not only made money selling furs and mining gold – they acted as patrons and made a significant contribution to the infrastructure that the locals still use.

The city of Yeniseysk can be visited in 1 day.
