Green Museum

Gallery St., 10, Feodosia, Crimea, Russia

About the company:

The Alexander Stepanovich Green Memorial Museum was opened on July 9, 1970 in the house where the writer lived from 1924 to 1929. The unusually creative and romantic atmosphere of Feodosia of that time helped to birth his new literary plots, in which the fairy tale borders on real life, and the most incredible desires come true. Here were written the best books of the writer: “Running on the waves”, “Golden chain”, “The road to nowhere”.

The creators of the museum turned it into a symbolic sailing ship with cabin rooms with sonorous names: "The frigate's hold", "Clipper", "Rostral", "Captain's cabin". Only one room, Green’s office, has been restored as it was during his lifetime.

In other halls, next to the usual exhibits - books, photographs, manuscripts - there are models of sailing ships, marine appliances, maps, interlacing of the Cesal rope, ship rynd. Such an unusual, at first glance, combination helps to vividly and visually convey the peculiar nature of A.S.Green’s work, to tell not only about his life, but also to imagine the world of his heroes.

The Green Museum is a museum of creativity, a museum for people who are not indifferent, who believe in a fairy tale and in Assol, waiting for its captain Gray. The museum has become a literary and artistic center of the city, attracting young artists and already famous masters of painting, graphics, art photography.
