The unique museum of the First Cosmonaut, which has unique materials from the archives of the Gagarin family: documents, photos, letters, personal belongings of Yuri Gagarin, recreating the life and way of life of the family in which the future cosmonaut lived and was brought up. In the memorial expositions, the main stages of Gagarin’s life are detailed and meaningful, which is of constant interest to visitors. The exhibition of the History Department of the First Human Space Flight examines the humanitarian aspects of cosmonautics in the context of mysticism, mythology, world religions, astrology, literature, fine arts and science. Expositions and exhibitions of the historical and ethnographic department reflect the nature, history, traditions characteristic of the Gzhat land; large sections are devoted to the foundation of Gzhatsk and the events of the Great Patriotic War that took place in the city and the district. The art gallery houses works of painting, graphics, sculpture, decorative and applied arts on space and local history themes. In the children's museum-club "Games of Yuri Gagarin" children play games 1930-1940-ies. Of particular interest to museum visitors are the interactive zones and cultural and excursion programs "In the Gagarin living room" and "Gzhatka gatherings". |
